More than 15 nonprofit and government agencies will provide numerous free services for seniors, including blood pressure checks, diabetes testing, hearing testing and bone density checks. Discount Medication

Everything costs more in today's economy.  Gas prices continue to skyrocket, grocery bills increase every week and the price of everything else is rising exponentially.  We need all the discounts we can get.

NeedyMeds is a non-profit organization founded in 1997 as a resource for people who need help with the cost of medicine. Lost Your Job? Free Meds From Pfizer

Pfizer Pharmaceuticals is offering more than 70 of its prescription drugs to people who have lost their jobs and health insurance since January 1 of this year through the Pfizer MAINTAIN program. Applications will be accepted through December 31, 2009, and applicants will be eligible to receive the free medications for one year or until they obtain insurance.

Applicants must sign a statement that they are experiencing financial hardship as well as provide a copy of their "pink slip" or similar employer notice. Applicants must have been on the Pfizer medication for at least 3 months.

Currently, interested people can call Pfizer at 866-706-2400 to sign up. Starting in July, online applications will be accepted through their website, http://www.PfizerHelpfulAnswers.com
